The Estate
History
Ketteringham Hall and the surrounding estate has consistently been steeped in rich history since its existence in 1066. Built in the 15th Century, the Hall was a Tudor Manor house before it was used as an active US air force base in WWII. It was sold to the Duke of Westminster in 1948 and utilised as a preparatory school until 1965.
In 1970, the premises was acquired by Mr Colin Chapman, the founder of Team Lotus, and it became the home of Lotus F1 for many years. Since then, the Chapman family have been responsible for the transition into modern day offices and business spaces through which the Hall continues to thrive.
The Grounds
The Ketteringham Hall estate spans 36 acres, covering landscaped gardens, lawns, parkland, pasture and woodland. With a strong sense of history and a host of delightful features, the gardens are well worth exploring.
The Victorian walled garden provides a beautiful space for an alfresco lunch, offering some quiet time to relax and reflect. Alternatively, the paths and woodland make for the perfect place to get active. Walking through the impressive grounds there are an array of picturesque views, unique Victorian features, and hidden treasures of 300 year old historic statues.
Wildlife and Nature
The lawns to the south of the Hall provide uninterrupted aspects across the beautiful lake to the pastures beyond. The grounds are teaming with nature, and the lake is home to a family of swans, with lots of other birds and wildlife in evidence all year round. Follow the yew tree lined path down to the tranquil waterside for some peace and quiet and watch the natural world go by.
The grounds at Ketteringham Hall lend themselves perfectly to a calm, serene and physically beneficial outdoor space to enjoy in moments away from the office.
The Cricket Club
The Estate is also home to the Ketteringham Hall Cricket Club run by private establishments of which membership is open to you should you qualify and wish to join.
